Quarter of a Century and a Blessing

Am I seriously 25? That feels so old. When I told someone this, their response was "you can no longer say you are in your early 20's." That totally makes me feel old. There are a couple things that I really thought would be slightly different when I hit the age of 25. I didn't think I would be married nearly 6 years when I hit 25. That means I got married EXTREMELY young. However, I would marry Jeff today, at the age of 19 or 98. It didn't matter that I was young. We just got to grow up together and develop together. I also never thought I would be married this long and not have kids yet. It had been a choice of ours to wait to have kids until about 2 years ago and now it is taking much longer than we thought. But I guess we just wait and see what the future holds for us. Overall, I am very happy with my life and am continually blessed everyday by the people in my life. Heavenly Father continues to bless me by putting these people in my life. I know I don't deserve such kind friends and family and am truly humbled that I am privileged, lucky and blessed with them.

Speaking of turning 25...I don't think I will ever act my age!! My birthday just happened to fall on a Friday this year. That is always nice so we can stay out late and enjoy the day. This year was one of the best birthdays I have had in the last probably 4-5 years. I think birthdays do start to suck as you get older. You grow up with your birthday being one of the most fun days of the year. The presents don't come out of your own income and you had lots of friends around to make the day even better. However, Jeff did excellent this year. He told me he couldn't get the day off because we had taken 7 days off out of the previous 10 work days. So he woke me up to flowers a balloon and card and made me think he had to go to work. It was 5:30 in the morning and he got back in bed and I told him he needed to get up and get ready so he wasn't late and he informed me that he had actually gotten the day off!! I got ready for a day of planned outings. We were supposed to go to breakfast but I got ready slowly and we ended up just going straight to lunch. We went to one of my favorite Chinese places in Sugarhouse. Sam Pan. I highly recommend it! He then drove me up to Park city for a shopping trip. We came home from that and I opened a few gifts. We ended up going out to dinner with some super GREAT friends. We went and got one of my very  FAVORITE dinners, the whisky river wrap at Red Robin. It is SOOOO good!! After that we were trying to figure out what to do next and I suggested playing hide and seek in Walmart somewhat kidding. We ended up playing for about 2 hours. (I told you I would never act my age and apparently not even half my age) After we came to our house and played with our friends newly purchased XBOX Kinect. It was such a great day.

Saturday morning I went over to my parents house because my sister and her family were here for my nephew's blessing. We went to Boondocks and had so much fun playing with the kids. It is SO great to have Mark and Kandice back around. A little bit later we went to dinner with all the siblings and spouses at Applebee's. We all went to pay and found out my mom had all ready paid for our dinner. She was only there for about 20 minutes before she had to leave for a temple session and my dad was sick that night so he didn't make it. I love my family and feel so lucky to consider them some of my best friends and not just blood relatives. We went back to my parents and all hung out and talked. On Sunday morning I went to two hours of our church and then went to my nephew Kamden's baby blessing. It was such a great weekend! I felt spoiled and loved with all the cards, gifts, lunches and phone calls, etc... Thanks to everyone who made it such a great day!
