Okay so now that it has been a month since I last posted I figure I would get busy updating our crazy month of July. I have been thinking about it for the last week but have had a really bad attitude and didn't want to blog when I was in a venting, self pity kind of mood. So now that I am in a better mood, I guess I will start from the beginning. July was CRAZY for me. We started with the weekend of the 4th of July. That was really fun. Saturday I started my morning off garage sale hopping and it was a success! I got an awesome iron clock and it is so cute! Then we went boating with my brother's good friend and his family. We grew up with them as neighbors and have known them for quite sometime. For those of who know me well know that I LOVE boating, having grown up going to Lake Powell every year so this was AWESOME! I had my first experience with wake surfing and started to get the hang of it right as we were leaving. Then Monday was the actual 4th of July. Jeff woke up early to golf with my dad and I decided to go boating AGAIN with my brother and his family. My mom actually came this time and then my dad came up later and hung out. I had some awesome tube rides and many near death experience. One of which was when my mom "accidentally" tried to run me and my brother Mike over with the boat. I am still not convinced it was a complete accident. :) I had some pretty awesome life jacket burns from my brother and I tube battling and have never felt so close to my sister in law. We got in some pretty awkward tubing positions. Then we came home and had a BBQ with my parents and then headed to the DATC field in Kaysville for the traditional firework show. I was reminded how much I LOVE Farmington/Kaysville area. It is fun to run into LOTS of people that come to the events that Kaysville so finely puts together. It has such a fun "small town" feel to it and feels so safe.
The next morning I got to wake up at 5:30am to be at the church at 6:30am for girls camp. We had to shorten our girls camp due to the fact that we had zero spring to melt our snow. So that resulted in having to change locations at the last minute which lead to us only having an option of one night for stake girls camp. We jam packed our 2 days and 1 night and made the best of it. I had SUCH a great time getting to know our amazing youth. I embarrassed myself quite a bit and am all ready regretting allowing some of the pictures and video tapping that occurred. I was told it was a huge success and of course the testimony meeting was the best part! I have decided that I feel so good with the youth. I am pretty sure it's because my maturity level is about the same as the girls' It was pretty cool to experience the first girls camp with some of our young women 5 years ago and experience it again when it was their last year. Jeff was the priesthood over night and it was fun to have him around even though I reacted very little with him with all that I was doing. We came home pretty late. A shower has never felt so good even after only two days.
I had about a week to get things done around the house and get caught up on everything I had been neglecting for the last two weeks. Friday the 15th was our 6th anniversary and we decided to go to the temple with some friends and then headed to dinner. We went to Tepanyaki, which was AMAZINGLY delicious! Then headed home and our friends came over for a bit and we just talked and chilled. It was pretty low key but it was a great anniversary.
The next Monday I flew to Boise to watch my sister's kids while they went on trek. It was fun to just hang out with my nephews and niece that I don't see often enough. We swam everyday in their pool, did art projects, watched movies, built forts and just had fun. Jeff drove up on Friday and brought 2 out of 3 of my brothers girls to play with their cousins they don't get to play with very often. It was fun having them around. My sister came home Saturday and we drove home Sunday. I had a few days to unwind and then I went to my friend's house to watch her kids. They are super fun and active kids! It was fun to watch their youngest that is a month younger than our little man would have been. It is fun to watch kids grow up so much and learn new things. I got done with that yesterday afternoon. It has been a pretty eventful month and the next two weeks are still pretty busy. Today I did pretty much NOTHING and it was SO nice to get up whenever I want and just chill at home. That is how our July went. It was busy, tiring, stressful and wonderful and I wouldn't have it any other way!
